Osman Hamdi Bey Yoku\u015fu Sk, 34122, Sultanahmet \/ Fatih, Estambul.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El edificio que ocupa desde 1974 la colecci\u00f3n del antiguo oriente, corresponde al antiguo edificio construido en 1883 por orden de Osman Hamdi Bey como Escuela de Bellas Artes (Sanayi-i-Nefise Mektebi), por el arquitecto Vallaury Alexander, quien tambi\u00e9n contruiri\u00e0 m\u00e1s tarde el edificio cl\u00e1sico del Museo Arqueol\u00f3gico que alberga hoy la colecci\u00f3n de arte Griego, Romano y Bizantino.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La colecci\u00f3n del antiguo oriente fue clasificada y organizada en 1917 y en 1933 por el experto alem\u00e1n Eckhard Unge, aunque sufri\u00f3 varios cambios al ser vaciado durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, y vuelta a colocar de la mano de Osman S\u00fcmer, para finalmente ser trasladado, en 1963, al edificio de la Escuela de Bellas Artes separ\u00e1ndola del resto de colecciones.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La colecci\u00f3n comprende piezas desde el arte pre-griego hasta el pre-isl\u00e1mico, pasando por Egipto, Anatolia, pen\u00ednsula ar\u00e1biga, sudeste Asi\u00e1tico y Levante, que fueron obtenidas de las excavaciones hechas desde finales del siglo XIX hasta el inicio de la primera guerra mundial, y llevadas a Estambul la capital del imperio Ot\u00f3mano.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Comprenden objetos de la cultura egipcia, acadia, mesopot\u00e1mica, urartiana, mit\u00e1nica, hattiana y preisl\u00e1mica.
